WHAT IS IT Balayage means painting in French. It is a free-hand highlighting technique. It’s one of the most popular hair coloring methods because it is customizable and tends to give your hair a charming natural look. Balayage is especially appealing on curly and textured hair in general, because your stylist’s control over what parts are chosen to be colored. Contrary to common belief, balayage is not only for blondes. It can also be used on redheads and brunettes. Not only that, but it could also be applied on silver hairs without having to color your entire hair. All Colour Services Does Not Include Wash and Style HOW IT’S DONE Balayage is a free-hand painting technique. It is applied on large sections instead of choosing specific strands. It is not as specific as ‘La Curly Couleur’ method. The hair gets parted in small triangle sections and each is painted . Then, your colorist starts separating your hair with mesh sheets or plastic wrap to prevent the dye from drying out, trapping heat so it can work its magic.
